SHOOTING STARS ELIMINATED FROM CAF CONFEDERATION CUP AFTER LOSS IN TUNISIA
Shooting Stars’ continental adventure came to an end on Sunday after the Ibadan club suffered a 2-0 defeat to CS Sfaxien in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie.
The Nigerian side travelled to Tunisia with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Ibadan but could not protect their lead.
CS Sfaxien scored twice to overturn the deficit and progress 2-1 on aggregate, ending Shooting Stars’ hopes of advancing to the next stage.
Despite the elimination, the Ibadan club showed signs of competitiveness in their return to continental football and will now turn their attention back to domestic action.
