RYBAKINA DEFEATS SABALENKA TO WIN FIRST US OPEN TITLE
Elena Rybakina has been crowned 2026 US Open champion after defeating defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final.
Rybakina won 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to claim her first US Open title and third Grand Slam crown.
The victory also saw the Kazakh star rise to world No.1, ending Sabalenka’s 99-week stay at the top of the rankings.
Sabalenka was attempting to complete a US Open hat-trick, but Rybakina produced a strong performance in the deciding set to secure one of the biggest victories of her career.
