BREAKING: WEST HAM SACK NUNO ESPÍRITO SANTO WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

The Hammers have parted ways with their head coach following a disappointing start to their Championship campaign, with the club currently sitting eighth on the table.

West Ham United have officially announced the departure of head coach Nuno Espírito Santo with immediate effect following a disappointing run of results in the English Championship.

The decision was confirmed by the club on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, after a review of the team’s performances and progress in the second tier.

West Ham’s decision comes after consecutive home defeats against Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, with Saturday’s 3-1 loss to West Brom proving to be Nuno’s final match in charge.

POOR RESULTS COST NUNO HIS JOB

The Hammers have struggled to maintain consistency in their promotion campaign, winning just six of their opening 13 league matches.

They currently occupy eighth position in the Championship standings, six points behind league leaders Middlesbrough and four points away from the automatic promotion places.

West Ham were expected to challenge for an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season, but their recent performances have increased pressure on the club’s management.

ASSISTANTS ALSO DEPART

Nuno’s departure will also see assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa leave the club.

In its official statement, West Ham said the board believed a managerial change was necessary to keep the club’s objectives and expectations on track.

Former club captain Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will temporarily oversee preparations ahead of Wednesday’s Championship fixture against Cardiff City.

SCOTT PARKER LINKED WITH THE JOB

Former West Ham midfielder Scott Parker has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Nuno, with reports indicating that discussions over the vacant position are advanced.

However, West Ham have yet to officially confirm a permanent successor, stating that the recruitment process is already underway.

Nuno leaves the London Stadium after a difficult spell that saw the club suffer relegation from the Premier League and struggle to establish momentum in the Championship.
