OSIMHEN ABSENCE LEAVES SUPER EAGLES WITH BIG ATTACKING QUESTION
Nigeria’s Super Eagles face a major selection dilemma ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign following the injury to Victor Osimhen.
The Galatasaray striker suffered a groin injury and is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines, putting his availability for Nigeria’s upcoming qualifiers in serious doubt.
Coach Eric Chelle will now have to consider his options in attack and identify the player capable of shouldering the goalscoring responsibility in Osimhen’s absence.
The Super Eagles have important qualifying fixtures ahead, making the situation a major concern for the national team.The injury could, however, provide an opportunity for other Nigerian forwards to step forward and establish themselves as reliable options for the Eagles.
