LIVERPOOL KNOCK TOTTENHAM OUT OF CARABAO CUP WITH 3-1 WIN
Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at Anfield.
Alexis Mac Allister gave Liverpool the lead before Cody Gakpo doubled the advantage. Tottenham pulled one back through Conor Gallagher, giving the visitors hope of forcing their way back into the contest.
However, Liverpool settled the tie when Dominik Szoboszlai produced a spectacular strike to make it 3-1.
Liverpool’s victory means they continue their defence of domestic ambitions, while Tottenham’s early-season struggles continued with another disappointing result.
The Reds will now wait for the fourth-round draw as their Carabao Cup campaign continues.
